Lanikai Beach is one of the most well known beaches on Oahu. It is located on the east side (windward) of the island and is known for its crystal clear, calm waters. Because of the calmness of the water, this beach attracts many swimmers as the reef on the outside blocks any breaking waves. The white sandy beaches are amazing to sunbathe and many people kayak, standup paddle board, and snorkel in the water. ​ Kailua is a cute little town that is a place you canʻt miss on your Oahu vacation. Lanikai beach is right in a residential neighborhood so parking can be a bit sparse. Although it may take some time to find road parking, it is well worth it. This side of the island is best in the morning as the sun doesnʻt fall behind the Koolau Range that is the backdrop.
