Description
Makapu'u Beach, situated just north of Makapu'u Point, hosts a challenging bodyboarding and bodysurfing experience. With its hollow, heavy, and shallow shorebreak, it's a spot not for the faint-hearted. Nearby, Suicides offers surfers an adrenaline-filled ride with its racey, hollow right waves breaking over shallow rock/reef. Thanks to the year-round tradeswell, there's always surf at both spots, though onshore tradewinds can sometimes make conditions less than ideal. The best conditions typically occur with northeast to east swells, occasionally complemented by offshore winds during the winter months.
